In many cultures the word “Baba” is a term of endearment. In Hindi it can also mean “Teacher”.

As mothers, we try to teach our little ones the importance of karma, respect for nature and our environment, even down to the way our clothes are made.

So our first instinct was to design a range of dresses that were made ethically, felt comfortable and looked timeless, so they could be handed down from cousin to sibling to friend.

Baba is all about friendship, family and a shared love for vintage-inspired prints and textiles. We met in NYC while both working in fashion but it was not until we returned to England and started our own families that Baba was born.

Drawing from Camilla’s childhood memories of visiting her family in India, we fell in love with the vibrant colours and the imperfections and irregularities that arise from layered hand block printing and the traditional use of natural dyes.

Using methods perfected through generations of artisans, our fabrics and dresses are created lovingly in a small family-run factory near the pink city of Jaipur.

We hope you and your little ones will wear and enjoy them with the same love with which they are made.
